Line quality practice

This last week I’ve been drawing a little. I’ve mostly worked on my webcomic and my arm has not been particularly hurt by it. I also sat down these last two days to practice a bit with the G-pen. I still need to learn how to control it better and how not to grip the damn thing so tight when I use it. So I sat down and did two exercises: inking without a sketch to follow and using a marker to do quick sketches that I later inked.

Inking from scratch is hard. Some hilarious proportions are bound to show up.

I think the cameraman is being eaten by a cat.

Uhh- volumes.

Playing around with that marker was actually kind of fun.

I do the same thing…I actualy ended up like pulling a muscle in my wrist or something, and also my shoulder because of it…

gotta take a chill pill and relax while you’re drawing heh

    • Ouch, that sounds like it would hurt a lot. I think the trick is to practice with the tools (especially with nib-pens) a lot so you get used to drawing the lines you need. When it comes to nib-pens you need precision if you’re going to ink a sketch and I compensate for that precision by holding the pen too hard. Well, I guess awareness is the first step to solving the problem, hahah.

  2. Tja Alek!
